Our First MLB Client - The Detroit Tigers
With the cloud of the Great Depression hanging low over the world, Marvin, Charles and Louis Jacobs secured a contract with the Detroit Tigers, their first of a major-league variety. Seventy-nine years later, the four-time world champion still looks to Delaware North to take care of its fans’ appetites for food and mementos.
The relationship is tantamount to sacred in the halls of Delaware North, and virtually everyone knows the story of Jeremy Jacobs’ father, Louis, boarding a train with a check for legendary Tigers owner Frank Navin. After the first year of the contract, he could see it was much too lucrative for Delaware North. So, he returned some of the proceeds.
