Delaware North Companies is one of the largest privately held companies in North America. The company has been privately held by the Jacobs family since 1915. Currently, the company has no plans to take the company public.

Delaware North Companies currently operates in food service, retail and hospitality industries in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and soon we will be returning to the United Kingdom, with the addition of a contract at the new Wembley National Stadium. Over the years, Delaware North Companies had operations on virtually every continent, including operations in Africa, Europe, the Soviet Republic and Asia, including a large operation in Hong Kong. In fact, Delaware North Companies held Joint Venture Certificate No. 00001 in the People’s Republic of China. Today, we carefully examine all opportunities to ensure they meet with our vision and mission for the future.

Supporting our communities has always been an important cornerstone of Delaware North Companies. As you can imagine, we get thousands of requests each year and can only select a very few that meet our parameters for consideration. We only give consideration to these organizations that hold a 501 C3 tax-exempt status. We are currently focusing our efforts on core needs, such as housing, clothing and food, in communities where Delaware North associates live and work.

In addition, the company donates more than $10 million annually to community groups through its Delaware North Companies Sportservice community group program, where the company donates a portion of the proceeds from concession stand sales at many of its operations across the United States. Groups can contact the individual Delaware North Companies Sportservice location in their community for more information about how to be part of the volunteer program.

Delaware North is unable to provide support for any kind of individual gift, religious or political purposes, capital campaigns, sponsorship advertising, research programs, endowments or any for profit ventures.

Do you own properties or just manage them?
We do both. Delaware North Companies currently owns and operates several properties including Tenaya Lodge, Harrison Hot Springs Resort & Spa and The Delta Queen Steamboat Company. In addition, we own and operate the TD BankNorth Garden in Boston. On behalf of our clients like the National Park Service and NASA, we also manage several great properties in national and state parks and have won numerous awards citing our management expertise.

As it has been since 1915, the company is headquartered in Buffalo, New York. The Jacobs family has maintained a firm commitment to the city for nearly a century. Currently, the company operates in its newest location in a new office complex with sweeping views of Lake Erie and the Buffalo skyline.
Although the company’s headquarters are in Buffalo, our 28,000 associates work in some of the most memorable places on earth including Yosemite National Park, Kennedy Space Center and ballparks, airports and stadiums worldwide.
