Australia's Best Sausage Roll: Old Fashioned Recipe A Winner for Hope Bakery at Sovereign Hill
It was with much pride that Hope Bakery at Sovereign Hill in Victoria celebrated winning the title of making the “Best Sausage Roll in Australia” in the 25th Fine Food Australia Great Aussie Pie Competition in October 2014.
“It was the first time we have entered and it’s just awesome to win it,” Head Baker, Rohan Giblett said. “It’s even better to know that the recipe has been followed at this bakery since Sovereign Hill opened in 1970.’’ He believes the old-fashioned recipe was key to winning the competition. The team’s meat pies also shared in the glory receiving a Silver Medal for the gourmet lamb stew pie and a Bronze in the plain mince pie category
