United Kingdom airport hospitality business takes off
The Escape Lounge at Stansted Airport follows the lounge openings at East Midlands Airport and in each of the three terminals at Manchester Airport, and comes as part of Delaware North’s three-year contract with the Manchester Airport Group.
Stansted’s Escape Lounge offers both the business- and leisure-traveller a relaxing space to start their journey -- with Wi-Fi, comfortable seating, and buffet and à la carte refreshments.
“We’re delighted with how well the Escape Lounge has been received since opening," said the airport's general manager. "The guest numbers received so far have been far higher than anticipated. The positive feedback in our guest comment book is testament to the hard work of the teams involved in launching the new lounge and ensuring we provide an excellent service for passengers. Many regular guests have commented on the quality of the food on offer, with our bacon rolls getting a special mention!”
Doug Tetley, managing director of Delaware North's U.K. business, added: “Our growth plans for the future of the business include expanding our airport catering operations. The past 12 months have seen Delaware North extend its U.K. airport presence with operations across some of the busiest airports in the country, including Heathrow, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, East Midlands and most recently, Stansted.
“We’re delighted with the reception of the Escape Lounge at Stansted so far, and we’re looking forward to further expansion over the coming months.”
