MLB All-Star Game at Target Field

Delaware North hits it out of the park at MLB All-Star Game

From the Home Run Derby event to the 5,000-person VIP gala and the game itself, Delaware North once again displayed its big-game acumen at the 2014 MLB All-Star Game and its accompanying festivities.

The level of service at the event -- held at Target Field, at which Delaware North operates food, beverage and retail services under the direction of General Manager Pete Spike -- and the culinary experience as a whole have been the center of several media stories. But perhaps the biggest testimonial came by way of social media on Tuesday, when Minnesota Twins President Dave St. Peter took his appreciation of Delaware North to Twitter, on which he has more than 21,000 followers.

Among those who re-tweeted St. Peter’s ringing endorsement was former major-leaguer Chuck Knoblauch – a four-time World Series champ with more than 62,000 followers.

The food items added for the event – including the Hangover Burger, which features two hamburger patties with bacon, American cheese and a fried egg, topped with mayo, ketchup and Sriracha – made countless headlines, including ESPN.com and Yahoo! Sports. What’s more, the crew from FOX Sports Live, which aired the event, even sampled the dish during its pregame broadcast.

The food, the brainchild of Executive Chef Pastor Jimenez, was also prominently featured in several daily newspapers – including The Washington Post, which ran this picture-heavy story: http://tinyurl.com/Delaware-North-Washington-Post -- and business journals.

“From self-serve beer stations to lobster corn dogs and ‘hangover’ burgers, crews from Buffalo-based Delaware North are ready to handle food and concession orders at tomorrow night's Major League Baseball All-Star game,” Buffalo Business First reporter James Fink said in a story about the company’s involvement. “The game at Minneapolis’ Target Field will mark the first of two years that Delaware North will be handling food and concession sales at baseball’s annual summer classic. The game is set for next year at Cincinnati’s Great American Ball Park, which is also a Delaware North venue.”
